RADIO One broadcast live from Wightlink's Victoria of Wight car ferry this morning (Tuesday).
The BBC station specialises in modern and chart music, and today was no different as presenter Greg James appeared aboard the £45 million vessel in search of sound effects for hit song, 'Losing It' by Fisher.
Australian tech house producer, Fisher, was previously a WQS pro surfer before his venture into music. His track 'Losing it' features a long bass horn, not unlike Victoria of Wight's very own horn.
Breakfast Show presenter Greg spoke with Wightlink crew and managed to orchestrate her ship's horn sounding at the perfect moment during the bassy-anthem live on air.
Listen to the radio clip below (4.05 is the key moment):
Wightlink took to Twitter to share the news of their national airing.
They wrote: "Did you hear us on @BBCR1 Breakfast this morning!? We helped @gregjames in his hunt for sound effects for Fisher’s track ‘Losing It’.
"Victoria of Wight sounded her horn this morning at the perfect moment in the song. Catch it on iPlayer later today!"
Stuart James, marketing and innovation director at Wightlink said: "We were delighted to answer the BBC's calls for sound effects and it was a great way to promote the Island from our new environmentally friendly flagship, Victoria of Wight."
