THE WIGHT KNIGHT - a real life superhero - has announced he's going to appear on national television in the weeks to come.
The Island's first masked crusader for justice took the stage at Pop Goes The Culture - a gaming and cosplay event at Cowes Enterprise College on Saturday afternoon (January 19).
While he was addressing the crowd he dropped a bombshell of an announcement - not only had he just been featured in The Times newspaper - he had also been invited to sit down on ITV's breakfast show, This Morning, with none other than Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.
The Newport man, who wishes to remain incognito, thanked the crowd at the event for their support as he'd been receiving hundreds of messages and notifications across his social media.
The crowd were then invited to indulge in a 'Birdbox' inspired game of Super Mario featuring blindfolded contestants.
The Wight Knight hung around at the event to make sure everything ran smoothly, fist-bumping adoring fans as he made his way through the auditorium.
The hero received a warm reception at the Pop Goes The Culture event but has in the past been denounced as a 'Poundland Power Ranger'.
Speaking exclusively to the County Press, the anonymous hero said: "I've just received news this morning that I've been asked to appear on ITV's This Morning with Holly and Phil - next week!
"I'm very much looking forward to doing my first live chat show and [to] everyone out there, thank you very much for following I've received already."
The Wight Knight is hoping to spread his message of 'helpfulness in the community' throughout the Isle of Wight and perhaps even nationally!
His appearance fee from This Morning will be donated to charity.
