CONTROVERSIAL changes to the parking rules at Ryde Pier have been put on hold.
The changes, due to be in force from June 26, included slashing the free parking time from an hour to 20 minutes.
Wightlink were planning to install number plate recognition cameras and new ticket machines on the pier for the change of rules.
The proposals meant drivers dropping off and picking up passengers would only be able to wait for 20 minutes without buying a ticket.
They would still have to pay the £1 toll for driving along the pier.
However, the changes still have not been made.
A Wightlink spokeswoman said: "Plans to introduce ANPR-controlled parking on Ryde Pier have been put on hold at present.
"We will let customers know when this changes. In the meantime, systems remain the same.
"We are sorry that some customers may have been given inaccurate information by some of our colleagues."
