CELEBRITY chef James Martin paid a visit to the newly opened Richmonds Bakery in Cowes yesterday (Monday).

He was in Cowes on a sailing trip with friends and dropped into the bakery on Bath Road — which has only been open a week — for a slice of coffee and walnut cake and a cup of coffee.

Richmonds Bakery owner Immy Bawdon said: "I recognised him when he came in. He is the first famous face we have had in the bakery.

"He stayed and chatted for about 20 minutes and wished me luck with the bakery.

"The bakery is going really well so far and was really busy over the bank holiday weekend."
