INNES Ann June 9th 1943- November 6th 2023 Ann died in my arms at the Wellow Unit in St Mary's hospital on Monday 6th November. Her care there during the last eight days was truly exceptional. She had been suffering from Parkinson's Disease and Lewy Body Disease for the past four years. She is survived by her husband Geoff, her two daughters Katy and Helen, their husbands Andrew and Paul, and her five grandchildren Zenouska, Olesia, Aneka, James and Henry. Ann taught in Liverpool, Birmingham and Northamptonshire before moving to the Isle of Wight in the hot summer of 1976. She was the Year Three teacher at Niton School, the Deputy Head for many years and Headteacher for a short time before she retired in 1997. Ann was a member of the Niton and Whitwell Parish Council for over thirty years being Chairman on two occasions. Her retirement years were spent travelling to all corners of the World with her husband. She was an experienced mountaineer and returned to Chamonix Mont-Blanc in the French Alps each summer for twenty years for some high altitude climbing. Chamonix was her spiritual home.Your tribute has been received.
