CHILDHOOD sweethearts Scott James Maguire and Laura Leah Shorter were married at St Mary’s Church, Carisbrooke.
The bridegroom, a carpenter, is the son of Mr Duncan Maguire, of West Hill Road, Ryde, and Mrs Juliet Maguire, of Carisbrooke Road, Newport.
The bride, a childcare practitioner, is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Robert Shorter, of Sylvan Drive, Newport.
The bride wore a tulle gown, with lace illusion bodice, finished with a delicate heart-shaped design on the back, together with a cathedral-length veil with lace applique to match the dress. She carried a bouquet of peonies, wild lavender and gypsophila.
She was attended by Katie Linington and Emily Harriskine-Cook, who wore lavender dresses and gemstone sandals and held smaller bouquets to match the bride’s.
The best men were Ross Maguire (bridegroom’s brother) and Sam Shurmer.
James Griffiths and George Schofield were ushers.
The Rev Marcus Bagg officiated.
A reception was held at New Barn Farm, Calbourne and the honeymoon was spent ‘glamping’ in the New Forest.
