Scores of children played rugby on the Isle of Wight, over the May Bank Holiday.

On May 4 and 5, Medina College in Newport welcomed the Isle of Wight Mini and Junior Rugby Festival.

Hosted by the Island's Vectis Rugby Club, Tour International's event saw children from 18 different clubs compete, in the U7 to U16 age groups.

Some participants travelled from as far as Lancashire and Leicestershire.

On May 4, a further 3,000 cyclists used Ventnor's clubhouse on their way around the Randonnee.

Ventnor thanked the club volunteers who helped marshal 'frenzied action,' and turned out bacon rolls, tea and a BBQ, as well as Briddlesford for the milk and RAW Samba for providing the entertainment, during the cycling event.

Money was raised for both the Luke Orton and the Team Teddy appeals.
