An Isle of Wight squash player is celebrating helping his country earn silver, at the Masters Home Internationals 2024 event in Dublin, Ireland.

Adam Dominey's first match was against Wales.

He started well, showing no sign of nerves and winning the first game, 11-2. In the second game, Adam kept his opponent at bay, winning 11-8. The third was a tough battle, but Adam came out on top, winning 11-9.

His England teammates were also victorious, winning the tie 20-0.

A televised match against the home team, on the show-court, piled on the pressure the following day.

Adam put in a gutsy performance against the experienced John Hurley, winning the first game 11-9. In the second, the left-handed Islander lost 7-11, but soon fought back to take the third, 11-6.

In their fourth game, showing signs of tiredness, Adam started to force shot and made errors, eventually losing 6-11. Despite an early lead in their fifth game, Adam couldn’t keep up his momentum and lost crucial points, before Hurley prevailed, 8-11, taking an overall 3-2 victory.

England lost 15-20 against their hosts.
