FANS of top drawer international cricket on the Isle of Wight will be in for a treat when England play New Zealand and fierce rivals Australia in iT20 matches at The Ageas Bowl next year.
England will face the Aussies under the lights in an iT20 on September 11.
The England women will be in action at the Southampton venue again, hosting New Zealand in an iT20, on July 6.
Both matches are predicted to be sell-outs following the interest in two sell out ODI matches this summer — 12,000 due to watch the women's team play Australia and the men facing New Zealand.
Supporters can enter register their interest in attending now on the Ageas Bowl website ahead of a ballot at the end of next month.
The best way to secure tickets for international cricket is by becoming a Hampshire Cricket member.
The two matches are the first to be confirmed, following the ECB’s recent announcement The Ageas Bowl will host a raft of internationals over the coming years — including, for the first time in the venue’s history, a men’s Ashes test in 2027 and a women’s Ashes test in 2031.
Interest in international cricket has never been higher.
All five tests for this year’s Ashes were sold out, while every venue hosting a women’s Ashes match this summer is on course to break its record attendance for a women’s fixture.
Broadcast viewing figures are also up across the board.
Non-members will have to enter a ticket ballot, opening on August 30, with any remaining tickets going on general sale on October 12.
Greig Stewart, head of customer experience at The Ageas Bowl, said: “We know supporters were as excited as we were by the recent announcement The Ageas Bowl is awarded a significant number of international cricket matches over the coming years.
"It is brilliant to be able to announce details of next summer’s fixtures.
“We expect both matches to sell out, so our advice to supporters is to register online ahead of the ballot, or beat the ballot by purchasing a Hampshire membership for the 2024 season, available in late August, which will include the option to upgrade and include the international fixtures.
“The cricket world is currently glued to the Ashes. England v Australia matches are always filled with drama, so for us to be able to host our own instalment of what is one of the most captivating rivalries in world sport, is fantastic.
“Hosting such high-profile fixtures can only help us continue to grow the game here in Hampshire.”
