The team at the Isle of Wight’s Monkton Arts is inviting us to “step into the timeless melodies of Django Reinhart,” as part of the new Ryde Gypsy Jazz Festival, between May 13 and19.

Jazz musicians from around the world will perform in venues across the town, including a headline concert at All Saints Church, with the London Django Collective.

The group is made up of leading musicians from London, who have previously performed sold-out shows at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club and the Pizza Express Jazz Club.

Appearing with them will be guitarist and festival organiser Sol Grimshaw, who became 'obsessed' with the music of the legendary jazz guitar player, Django Reinhart, aged just 10 years old.
