AN ISLE of Wight woman attacked multiple police officers, smashed a window, and spat blood all over an ambulance during a sustained incident.

Courtney Jordan, of Sunset Close, Freshwater, appeared before Isle of Wight magistrates of Friday, April 22.

At a previous hearing in March, the 22-year-old admitted three counts of assault by beating of an emergency worker, two counts of criminal damage, possession of cannabis, and using threatening/abusive words/behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.

The charges related to dates between September 13 and 14 of last year.

Prosecutor, David Logan-Rose, said police were called to an address in Newport following reports of a break-in.

He said police entered the dwelling and found Jordan upstairs with a deep wound to her head.

Mr Logan-Rose said police tried to treat Jordan at the scene, but she became abusive and started attacking attending officers, kicking and biting.

The court heard she went on to spit blood all over an ambulance and assault a further police officer while in the waiting area at the hospital.

Mr Logan-Rose said the second criminal damage charge related to a windowpane Jordan broke back at the address.

She was also found in possession of a small quantity of cannabis.

Michael McGoldrick, defending, said Jordan couldn’t remember the incident. She had initially been dealt with by way of a conditional caution but found herself in court because she could not afford to make the payments.

Jordan was made subject of a 12-month community order, to include 15 rehabilitation days and 80 hours of unpaid work.

She was also ordered to pay £300 compensation.
