Tony Mansbridge, East Cowes:

Floating Bridge surveys are irrelevant as we don't need another one.

We do need a physical bridge with one or two decks which can be made in Holland and shipped here flat pack.

It can be controlled by traffic lights - lights for boats and cars 24 hours a day, with those for boats on pontoons on either side of the river.

Both sides of the river will have to be filled in to align with the edge of the river.

At East Cowes, the sharp left hand can be rounded off once the slipway has been filled in. West Cowes can be made wider.

The bridge can open and shut as fast as the Floating Bridge so there will be no more delays than we have now.

You don't need a crew on a bridge, it does not require diesel to run it and no chains are needed across the river.

Do not build another floating bridge, we don't want it, or get a quote from a bridge before we make a decision.
