DRIVERS who intend to use the only dual carriageway on the Isle of Wight this morning (Sunday) will need to find an alternative route to their destination — especially those intending to use the Red Jet ferry.

The Isle of Wight Council state Medina Way in Newport has closed, along its entire length and on both sides, for safety during arboricultural works.

The road will be shut this morning, or when the works are completed, in one shift, the council add. No timings were announced.

An alternative route has been signposted.

If you intend to use Red Funnel's Red Jet service, plan your route accordingly.
