A body has been found in the search for an Isle of Wight woman missing from Bembridge.
The discovery was made by officers searching the Culver Down area, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed.
A search for missing Gillian Burns, from Bembridge, was launched yesterday (Monday).
The 64-year-old was last seen at her home address at 10pm on Sunday (September 17).
Police, Bembridge RNLI and Island Coastguard Rescue Teams had joined search efforts.
WightSAR, the Island's volunteer search and rescue team, had also been assisting.
Police issued an appeal to find Gillian yesterday afternoon and searches continued this morning.
Police investigating have said formal identification of the body has not been completed, but Gillian's family have been made aware.
At this time the woman’s death is not being treated as suspicious, the force added.
