Traffic is still facing disruption on the outskirts of East Cowes this afternoon (Monday, July 17), following a two car crash.
Police were called at 2.30pm to reports of a collision between a white Mazda and a red Jeep on Whippingham Road, between the junctions of Alverstone Road and Folly Lane.
Firefighters from Newport were alerted and released two people from their vehicles and handed them into the care of paramedics at the scene.
Thankfully, a Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary spokesperson confirmed to the County Press that minor injuries were reported.
With the Floating Bridge out of service, many motorists have been stuck trying to get in and out of East Cowes.
The queue to leave East Cowes begins at Albert Cottage Hotel, and traffic heading from the Racecourse Roundabout is moving slowly past the incident.
Recovery of the vehicles is now taking place.
Southern Vectis routes four and five are still travelling via Whippingham Road.
