A CAR fire on the dual carriageway in Newport is causing some traffic delays this afternoon (Friday).

Police, and a single fire crew from Newport are in attendance.

Traffic joining the dual carriageway from Dodner estate are worst affected, as the inside lane has been closed by police.

Queues are building, but traffic is moving slowly.

Motorists should try to avoid the area if possible.

No injuries have been reported and the County Press is told all occupants of the Ford Focus got out safely.

The fire is out and firefighters are damping down the area.
