A WOOTTON man will appear in court after three vehicles were damaged in a crash near East Cowes yesterday evening (Friday, April 14).
Police were called shortly before 5.30pm following reports of a collision on Whippingham Road.
At least three cars suffered damage in the rush hour crash, seeing the road closed for almost two hours - reopening at 7.30pm.
Eye-witnesses at the scene said one car crashed into a hedge, and at least two others were badly damaged.
Carl Isham, 38, of St Edmunds Walk, Wootton, has been charged with driving a motor vehicle without a licence, driving a motor vehicle when alcohol level is above the limit and using a motor vehicle on a road/public place without third party insurance.
He is next due to appear at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court on Friday, April 28.
