FIREFIGHTERS tackled a vehicle fire on a main rural road in Bowcombe this afternoon (Saturday, February 4).
One engine from Newport was sent to Bowcombe Road, which concerned shoppers in the town would have seen leave the station at around 12.30pm.
At the scene, fire crews found a 'small vehicle fire', which teams managed to put out using one hose reel jet.
A spokesperson from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service said the damage was not too severe and the vehicle is thankfully 'saveable'.
Firefighters left the scene at 12.50pm.
