A DOUBLE-DECKER bus fire has caused some delays heading in and out of Shanklin this afternoon (Wednesday, December 28).
On-call crews from Shanklin and Ventnor were alerted to a double-decker bus fire at 4.16pm.
Firefighters arrived to find smoke coming from the engine of the vehicle on Church Road.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue have tackled the fire using a hose reel whilst checking the vehicle with a thermal imaging camera.
The stop message came in at 4.37pm, with engineers set to attend the scene to assess the vehicle.
Southern Vectis said its route three bus from Shanklin Bus Station at 4.08pm has broken down and is unable to complete its return to Newport.
Church Road remains open and passable with care.
