A man has been given oxygen and has been treated for the effects of smoke inhalation, after a van fire near Shanklin.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service's Shanklin crew was called out at 6:45am this morning (Friday), to Apse Manor Road.
Firefighters found a van 'well-alight', after a blaze started in the engine.
The vehicle was almost completely destroyed by the fire - which saw firefighters remain on the scene for around two hours.
Crews gave a man immediate emergency care - including oxygen - at the scene.
Wearing breathing apparatus, they used hose reel jets to stop the fire.
The road was closed and buses diverted, for a time.
