A BURST water main has closed the main Nettlestone road this afternoon (Tuesday, August 9), with engineers asking the public to stay back due to damage caused to the road.

Eddington Road, between The Timbers to Chequers, has been closed following the leak just after Caws Avenue.
Southern Water engineers, who are now on the scene, are warning people to not come close due to the risk of collapse.
A witness has reported that the road feels 'really soft underfoot', and residents say the road has started to bulge.
Locals have been collecting the water in buckets and wheelbarrows.
Some properties are experiencing low water pressure, and others have lost water completely.
Southern Vectis route eight, Downs Breezer and Coaster have been affected by the closure, and diversions are now in place.
Brading High Street was also closed today because of water main repairs.
