FIREFIGHTERS have been called to Ryde this evening (Wednesday, August 3) following reports of a fire at a derelict hotel.
Fire crews arrived at the scene, the site of the former three storey Royal York Hotel on George Street, shortly before 7pm.
The fire is located on the first floor of the building.
Four fire engines are in attendance and the incident remains ongoing.
UPDATE (10pm): The fire is now out and George Street has reopened.
