AMID the continued decline of the Isle of Wight dairy industry, another local company has stunned its many customers by telling them they are no longer trading.

The Four Winds Dairy, based in Calbourne, send customers an email, which reads: "Please note that with immediate effect, we have ceased trading. Please place empty bottles in your recycling waste."

The, company, who shut down their Facebook page and did not give an explanation for their decision, also thanked customers for their business and attached a final invoice.

Before the pandemic, the Island's dairy industry was already decimated, with about 80 per cent of the millions of litres of milk produced each year, getting shipped off the Island for processing.

Last December, the Milk and More delivery firm also folded on the Island because it was unable to find a suitable, cost-effective premises from which to operate after the lease on their previous distribution centre premises had expired and was not renewed.
