HE BODY of a man has been recovered in Chale this morning.
Isle of Wight Police were called at 10.19am today (Friday) to a report of the body of a 44-year-old man found near Blythe Shute, Chale.
A multi-emergency response attended the scene, near Whale Chine.
The man's next of kin have been informed and are being supported by officers.
The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file shall be prepared for the coroner.
In attendance were HM Coastguard crews, and the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.
A spokesperson for HM Coastguard said: "Just before 10.15am today (18 September) HM Coastguard was asked to assist the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service with a report of an incident at Whale Chine.
"A senior coastal operations officer and Coastguard Rescue Teams from Ventnor and the Needles were sent together with the search and rescue helicopter from Lee-on-Solent and a helimed."
