The Cowes East Cowes floating bridge is the subject of a spoof advert on Wightbay.
The chain ferry, which is off because of a major fault, has been posted on the online selling site.
Listed as having a "clean bottom as she is always on the slip" and called a "reliable non runner", the joke advert asks for £500 in exchange for the multi-million pound vessel that is been beset by problems.
The 'seller' promises it is "very reliable and cheap to run when not in service."

Yesterday, the Isle of Wight Council denied the service could be off for up to 30 weeks, after a Facebook post suggested that was possible, but said it did not yet have a timescale for the chain ferry to return to service.
In the meantime, motorists must driver through Newport and pedestrians can use a service that covers most - but not all - the Floating Bridge's operating hours.
