Ten motorcycles in five sheds in Carisbrooke were involved in a fire that could be seen - and smelled - across much of the area last night (Wednesday).

Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue was called to Kitbridge Road just after 9pm.

Two appliances from Newport attended, while a third was called but was not required in the end.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and using 3 hoses put out the flames.

Firefighters have since left the scene and the area is quiet this morning (Thursday).
