Firefighters from Ryde were called to a motorbike and a scooter on fire in the town last night.

They attended the incident near Hillrise Avenue, Binstead, using a hose to put out the flames.

They were on scene until around 1am.

In an unrelated incident, they were called to the beach at 8:30pm, after reports that children were lighting fires on the beach.

They found only ash left from cardboard boxes on the sea wall - but spoke to the young people on the scene.

Two further call outs saw them help the Isle of Wight ambulance service with patients in Castle Street and George Street, says Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service.
