A MEDICAL emergency is causing delays to Red Funnel ferries this morning.

The unspecified emergency is currently being attended to by an ambulance, the Isle of Wight NHS Trust has confirmed.

The 9am Southampton to East Cowes vehicle ferry is likely to be delayed by 30 minutes due to the medical incident.

The ferry operator has also put out an early warning that the 10.30am sailing from East Cowes will also be affected, with a predicted 40 minute delay.
