THE police have confirmed that the body of a man has been found in Shanklin.

At around 6.40pm yesterday (Sunday), members of the public found a body.

A spokesperson for the police said: "Around 6.40pm on Sunday, July 7, the body of a man was found on an area of land behind houses in Silver Trees, Shanklin.

"At this stage, the death is not being treated as a suspicious.

"A file is being prepared for the coroner."
