A FIRE crew was called to an engine fire on Fairlee Road this afternoon.

One crew from Newport was sent to the scene just after 2pm, and pushed the vehicle to a safe area off the highway.

A thermal imaging camera was used to confirm the engine had overheated.

One hosereel jet was used.

No one was injured.
